I came here while I was in Clearwater, and this was recommended. Our waitress was really nice and gave us plenty of time to look over our menu. The food was amazing. I had the Blackened Rice Bowl with steak, and it was worth every penny. We also got Southwestern Rolls as an appetizer. This restaurant is a definite must try if you're in Clearwater.
I have never been here before but I always wanted to try it . Turned out I was able to go since it was an after work dinner party. The fish was so good I didn’t even taste fishy it actually tasted amazing as well as the rice and broccoli everything was perfectly cook. I will definitely go back to try the wings since my coworkers said they were fire Staff was kind and always asked if we needed anything
** Edit: we have went back everyday this week for lunch. When I wrote this review it was Tuesday before lunch time, walking out of the hospital we talked about places to go…. Abe’s won my vote. We got the same server (Thomas) as the day before and he remembered everything we ordered, all the details. He’s awesome and very kind. We’ve went every day this week (today’s now Saturday) My husband and kids have gotten different items and everything is always so good. Me… I’m consistent and get the same thing daily. Honestly look forward to it! Blackened Bowl with chicken was absolutely amazing. We have been staying in Largo for over a week due to a direct family member being hospitalized (we live in Citrus County). Eating out quickly becomes the way of life being away from home. Googling a ‘Burger place’ is how we found Abe’s. I’m all about places with great reviews and seeing this place having reviews in the thousands had me hitting start on the gps. We didn’t know what to expect, the door had a sign saying something around celebrating 20 years. Cool. But once we looked over the menu, made our selections and the food arrived …. I can see why. I felt like we were finally eating a delicious home cooked meal. I wouldn’t change anything. Adding a side salad to my dish with salsa as the dressing made this like a taco bowl. I hope to be back soon (like today)! P.S. my husband ordered the blackened burger and he loved it. Always ask for Thomas!
This is a really great place. Bree was our server. She was fantastic?!I can only imagine in the football season must be a great time with all the TVs they have. Food was actually quite surprising very good. Must try the pretzel bites. They have a parmesan and butter basically glazed on top and a dipping sauce on the side of cheese. Omg!!!
Had the California Burger w/rice & beans. So Incredibly DELICIOUS I doubt I'll ever order anything else!!! Superb service provided by Dulce who I'll request every future visit!! Even the cute Manager was great; he didn't let me leave w/o running me down to give me my ear buds!! All this AWESOMENESS happened despite my arrival only 15 mins prior to closing time!! KUDOS all around to everyone involved!!
We had to stop halfway through the meal to rate this place. It's our first time here from NJ. The service was quick for a group of 8. The drinks...I had 1 bay breeze and was feeling nice! The teens LOVED the wings, chicken tenders, and burgers. We even had 1 picky teen who gave it an 11 star review...you don't understand...she gives no one more than 3. We were there during a shift change which went smoother than the hospital with and unexpected group of 14 and 8 that popped up at the same time. Michael started us off with drinks and Kayla jumped in with the meals. This place was AMAZING. Now...back to our meal.
So I used to drink on the side deck (north! not east according to the review I read) when this place was Mugs n Jugs. I've visited three times since Abe's took over and have been very pleased. Service is a bit slow, but I believe that's because they're taking time to make pretty fresh food. The photos are just one box of my leftovers made into quesadillas next day...yum. Can't tell if the stuffed mushrooms are frozen or fresh, but the batter feels fresh. The chicken strips seem fresh made. So do the fish and chips. Can't tell if fries are made from frozen or fresh. Burgers are giant and AWESOME! The brioche buns are really good and fresh. Last night I got a 'bowl' with bkackened chicken and black beans and rice... Awesome. All I can say is that, compared to other restaurants in the neighborhood, this is great quality food. Not the fastest. But tastes great and the portions are over large. They could probably reduce their food costs if they weren't giving me three days of meals in one. I'd pay the same price for a smaller portion. Instead I come home with way more than I could have eaten. I always eat on the deck so can't comment about the bar or the inside dining, but highly recommend this place. Went last night at 7pm, but by 8 the parking lot was full... Very popular and slightly local. Good experience all around.
First time there and I've got to tell you...I will go back. The food was incredible and the atmosphere was perfect. But, the biggest advantage Abe's place had over their competition was the service. Our server, Jada was just phenomenal! She was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The type of person you just wish all the success in the world for.
